Employee suspected of stealing phone from safe

A female employee of a Birmingham business on the 30000 block of Woodward Avenue was allegedly seen by witnesses on Monday, January 15, stealing a phone from the safe of the business.

Around 1 p.m., Birmingham police arrived at the business where the manager reportedly stated a phone worth $830 was missing from their safe.

According to police, witnesses stated they saw a female employee, who police later learned had 17 outstanding warrants, stealing the phone from the safe.

An investigation is ongoing, according Birmingham police.
