Ex-boyfriend beats up woman's new lover

A 52-year-old West Bloomfield man was hospitalized on Thursday, March 19, from injuries he received when his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend assaulted him in her home, Birmingham police said.

Officers were dispatched about 12:37 a.m. to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital for the victim of an assault that occurred in Birmingham. The victim told police he was at his girlfriend’s home in the 1000 block of Saxon when her ex-boyfriend burst in and assaulted him.

The victim said the girlfriend rents the home from the ex-boyfriend, who lives in Bingham Farms.

The victim said he had never met, seen or been threatened by the man prior to the assault.

The man suffered multiple cuts, two broken ribs and received a staple in the back of his head.
