Fake business website scamming customers

A Birmingham business located at the 200 block of Eton discovered a fake website scamming their customers into purchasing invalid gift cards.

An employee told Birmingham police that a client had purchased gift cards from the fake website as far back as May 11, 2025, and the website was still active as of Thursday, September 18, when the police report was filed.

Police indicated that the email address found on the web form listing belongs to an 82-year-old male. They report that an investigation is ongoing.

The name of local businesses are seldom provided by Birmingham police.
