Family movie nights return to Booth Park June 9

The popular summer movie night series, sponsored by the Birmingham Shopping District (BSD), returns to Booth Park beginning Friday, June 9, with the presentation of Encanto.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and find a cozy spot at the park to enjoy family-friendly favorites on the giant LED screen. Pre-show entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. and movies start at 7:30 p.m.

Movie Nights are free and include sponsor displays with complimentary treats and giveaways (while supplies last).

“Movie nights draw hundreds of families for a fun-filled evening downtown. We encourage movie goers to arrive early and enjoy dinner at one of Birmingham’s many restaurants or grab a carry out before heading to the park to enjoy exciting pre-show entertainment and the featured presentation,” said Jaimi Brook, operations and events manager.

The feature presentation in July will be The Grinch, held on Friday, July 14. Then, for the presentations on Friday, August 11 and Friday, September 8, it will be the public's choice. Starting June 1, visit https://engage.bhamgov.org to vote. Voting is open through June 30.

Booth Park is located on the west side of North Old Woodward Avenue, south of Harmon Street in Birmingham.

In the event of inclement weather, Movie Nights will be held the following day (Saturday).
