Fire damages Bloomfield Hills home

A Bloomfield Hills home was damaged on Monday, December 6 by a fire that spread from the first floor to the attic, in the 600 block of Rudgate Road, authorities said.

Firefighters with the Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department responding about 1:32 p.m. to the report of a residential structure fire in the area arrived to find the front door of the home fully engulfed in fire, said Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Lt. Dustin Lockard. A quick attack was made and the fire was knocked down, he said.

Lockard said some extension of the fire was found in the attic and extinguished. The department was assisted by the Troy Fire Department, Bloomfield Township Fire Department, Berkley Department of Public Safety and Star EMS.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
