Fleeing teens steal from Dick's Sporting Goods
Dick's Sporting Goods in Bloomfield Township reported to police on Thursday, November 9, that several young men stole mouth guards, backpacks and face shields from the store and then took off in a Dodge Durango before being caught by police and arrested.
At approximately 7 p.m., store personnel at Dick's Sporting Goods, 2105 S. Telegraph Road, contacted Bloomfield Township police for a retail fraud which had just occurred. Employees informed police that several young black men had stolen various items from the store.
Witnesses reported they saw the males flee the premises in a silver Dodge Durango.
Officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it. The officers recovered the stolen merchandise and placed all three of the juvenile occupants into custody.
The three juveniles were brought back to the police station where they were picked up by their mothers.
Bloomfield Township police report the case will be sent to the Oakland County Juvenile Court for review.
