Food, valuables taken while groceries unloaded

Items were taken from a vehicle in Bloomfield Township as the local resident was unloading groceries from the auto and taking them into his home.
Bloomfield Township police on Wednesday, February 25, at about 7:30 p.m., responded to a larceny from automobile that just occurred in the 400 block of N. Foxhills Drive. The victim stated he had returned home from the grocery store and was carrying his groceries into his residence when he observed his vehicle’s rear driver side door ajar and an unknown male near his vehicle.
The suspect took off running south in the parking lot when he saw the victim. The suspect stole multiple items, including a grocery bag of food, and a backpack containing an iPad, a laptop, text books, and various notebooks, according to the police report.
Officers said they scoured the area and a Bloomfield Township K9 attempted a track of the suspect. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
The case was turned over to the Bloomfield Township Investigation’s Unit and is currently under review. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7555.
