A 17-year-old and three 18-year-olds are being investigated for reportedly using counterfeit bills to pay at a Birmingham business on Friday, November 14, at the 200 block of W. Maple.

Birmingham police stated that officers found the group after receiving the report, but they claimed they were just driving through the area and did not go into any Birmingham businesses.

While they had been let go since police did not have evidence connecting them, witnesses were able to identify the group the next day.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
