Four women nabbed for Lululemon clothing theft

The Birmingham Police Department, with assistance from the Royal Oak Police Department, arrested four women on Thursday evening, April 19, for theft of over $4,000 in clothing from Lululemon at the intersection of Old Woodward and Maple Road in Birmingham.

Birmingham officers were dispatched to Lululemon at about 6:40 p.m. for a retail fraud in progress involving three females, two of which acquired the clothing. The three suspects fled the store and entered an awaiting vehicles.

Birmingham police dispatch advised local police agencies of the crime, suspect descriptions and suspect vehicle information. The suspect vehicle, occupied by four females, was later stopped by the Royal Oak Police Department.

Birmingham officers responded to the scene of the traffic stop and confirmed that the individuals involved in the retail fraud were in fact in the vehicle. Four individuals were arrested in connection with the crime and all of the stolen merchandise was recovered from the suspect vehicle.

Charges were obtained through the Oakland County Prosecutors office for retail fraud first degree, a five-year felony offense.
