Franklin south of Telegraph closing on Friday

In order to make concrete repairs, the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is closing Franklin Road just south of Telegraph Road to just north of Acorn Road in Bloomfield Township, starting today (Friday, August 4) through approximately Friday, August 18.

During the closure, the detour for traffic is Telegraph Road to Hickory Grove Road, back to Franklin Road, and vice versa.

Business access will be maintained during the road work period by using Franklin Road.

The RCOC stated that once the new concrete is poured, it must be cured, meaning it cannot be driven on. That means that during that phase there will be no workers present, and while the road may appear complete, it can only be opened to traffic once the concrete is finished curing and gains the necessary strength to support traffic.
