Gas station reports problems with teens stealing

The owner of the Mobil Gas Station at 1100 Maple Road in Birmingham reported to police he has been having ongoing issues with teenagers stealing items from the store, with a teen girl stealing a Tide To Go pen on Friday, May 13.

An officer was dispatched to the gas station on Saturday, May 14, to take the retail fraud report. Witnesses reported that around 2 p.m. on Friday, a suspect, described as a teenager girl with light brown hair, wearing a green shirt with four stars, was seen removing a Tide To Go pen from its packaging and putting the pen in her pocket before exiting the store.

The total value of the item is approximately $3.49.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
