While a Detroit man was inside a store in Birmingham, his glasses, worth about $1,295, were taken from the inside of his rental car on Sunday, March 23

The man reported the incident to Birmingham police a few days after it happened. He told officers he went into the store for around 5-10 minutes, but he left the windows down and the car unlocked. The report was filed at the Birmingham police station, but no location where the theft happened was provided.

Birmingham police say an investigation is ongoing.
