Group of three motorcyclists flee from police

A group of motorcyclists fled from Birmingham police on Saturday, December 9, after allegedly excessively speeding down Woodward Avenue at Bowers.

Birmingham police indicated that a patrol officer heard a radio report around 10 p.m. from a Royal Oak police officer stating a group of motorcyclists was speeding at more than 100 miles per hour northbound on Woodward.

The Birmingham office spotted the group of three speeding up Woodward at Lincoln, eventually catching up to them at a red light on Woodward at Bowers. Reportedly, the drivers fled from the officer once the light turned green, but the license plate information was recorded.

An investigation is ongoing.
