Gun stolen from vehicle's glovebox in Birmingham

A Sterling Heights man working in Birmingham on Thursday, March 31, told police his gun was stolen from his vehicle’s glovebox while parked behind the Merrill Street parking structure.

Police said the 38-year-old victim told officers he was at work from 2:55 p.m. to 10:57 p.m. on Thursday, and returned to his vehicle to find the glovebox open and his firearm missing. The man said he couldn’t recall if he locked the vehicle or not.

Police said a witness told officers two people were seen checking car doors for unlocked vehicles earlier in the day and provided a description.

Birmingham police are investigating.
