Birmingham police officers were dispatched at about 10 p.m. on Friday, August 29, to a restaurant in the 100 block of North Old Woodward, where customers found a handgun on a cabinet in the public bathroom.

Officers contacted its registered owner, a 23-year-old Dearborn man, who admitted leaving the firearm in the bathroom. He was issued a citation for unsafe storage of a firearm.
