Handgun stolen from unlocked vehicle

:

A handgun was stolen sometime during the day on Thursday, March 4, from a vehicle in the 400 block of Evansdale Drive, Bloomfield Township police said.

Officers responded about 7 p.m. to the report of a theft from a vehicle in the area where the victim said someone took his 9 mm handgun from the center console of his Jeep Cherokee.

The victim told police he parked in his home's driveway and left the vehicle unlocked. The gun went missing sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Bloomfield Township Police Department recommended residents don’t leave handguns or other valuables in unsecured vehicles.
