Homeowner alerted by alarm to house break-in

On the evening of Sunday, September 22, a Bloomfield Township resident was woken up when their home alarm went off and they discovered the sliding door in their home partially open.

Bloomfield Township police went to the home in the 1500 block of Thread Needle Street and found fresh footprints in the grass that went to and from the rear glass sliding door.

Police started a K9 tracking, but no suspect was developed.

The case is currently under investigation and was turned over to the Bloomfield Township Investigations Unit.

Those with information about the case are asked to call 248.433.7755.
