In the Park Concerts return to Shain Park
After a pandemic hiatus, the popular In the Park Concert series is returning to Birmingham's Shain Park on Wednesday, July 28, at 7 p.m.
During this safe, fun and substance-free event series, visitors are invited to enjoy the vibrant outdoor atmosphere and beautiful park setting while listening to performances from local bands playing a wide variety of music genres.
Concerts will be held every Wednesday, weather permitting, with the first concert the pop/rock band, Mainsteet Soul, followed by the Steely Dan tribute band Major Dudes on August 4. Country singer Alan Turner will take his turn at the mike on August 11, with folk singer Jill Jack on August 18, then pop crooner Ben Sharkey on August 25. R&B showband the Sun Messengers will open up on September 1, and The Byron Legacy Show, bringing Las Vegas to You, starring Byron Cancelmo, will close out the season on September 8.
All shows are at 7 p.m.
“We are thrilled to resume the In the Park Summer Concert series in Shain Park this summer. With last year’s series cancelled due to the pandemic, we are excited to resume this special, long-standing community tradition with a wonderful line-up of bands,” said Birmingham Director of Public Services, Lauren Wood.
