Intoxicated man assaults woman in city bar

A 24-year-old man from Birmingham was charged with disturbing the peace and assault and battery on the night of Friday, December 20, after he headbutted a woman in the face while he was ‘extremely’ intoxicated.
The incident took place at a Birmingham bar on the 400 block of North Old Woodward. According to Birmingham police, several witnesses who were in the bar confirmed they saw the man hit the woman in the face after she was trying to help him, with witnesses also saying the man was highly intoxicated.
Officers confirmed the man was intoxicated with a breathalyzer, and ultimately charged him with disturbing the peace and assault and battery.
