Items stolen from vehicle in parking structure

A West Bloomfield man’s vehicle was burglarized on Saturday, April 9, while parked in the Peabody Street parking structure as the victim was eating dinner, Birmingham police said.

The victim told officers he was at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse and had left his vehicle with a valet attendant, who then parked it at the Peabody structure. The man told police that when the valet returned his vehicle about 11:30 p.m., the glove box was open and items were scattered on the floor. Several items, totaling about $5,619, were missing.

Officers said the valet couldn’t recall if the vehicle was locked while at the structure.

Police said the victim and Hyde Park management hadn’t reached a resolution at the time the police report was taken.
