Keys inside stolen vehicle on Larchlea Drive

A car stolen from a resident's driveway in the 500 block of Larchlea Drive in Birmingham on Wednesday, June 8, had its keys left inside the unlocked vehicle at the time it was stolen, along with valuables.


An officer was dispatched to the home, where the victim, a 44-year-old male resident, reported that his vehicle had last been seen in his driveway around 10:45 p.m. the previous evening. The man reported that the keys were inside the unlocked vehicle at the time it was stolen, as well as other items, including a laptop, sports equipment, credit cards and cash.


Birmingham police report there are no witnesses or suspects at the time.


This incident is believed to be related to several other auto thefts in the area.


A police investigation is ongoing.
