After stealing over $200 worth of liquor from a Birmingham grocery store in the 600 block of E. Maple the night of Tuesday, August 4, a man was arrested and handed off to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant.
The man was seen leaving the grocery store with a canvas bag full of liquor bottles, according to a customer, and was last seen at the bus stop near Woodward and Maple. When officers found the man, they also found the bag with five liquor bottles and the anti-theft devices inside.
Officers arrested the man and, while doing so, found drug paraphernalia on him and also found out he had an outstanding warrant from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Birmingham police reported they cited him for second-degree retail fraud, possession of narcotic equipment and then transferred him to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
