Local business robbed by group of women

Around 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, a local downtown Birmingham retail business, located at the 100 block of S. Old Woodward, was reportedly robbed by a group of five women.

According to the manager of the store, she saw the women enter the store and grab clothing. The manger ended up recognizing the group from past retail frauds. The manager said she locked one of the doors to make it harder for them to leave but they still somehow managed to get out of the store with piles of stolen clothing.

They reportedly left in a car driving eastbound on Maple.

Birmingham police reported they are investigating the incident.
