Local resident cited for indecent exposure

Bloomfield Township police on Friday, July 24, were dispatched at about 7 p.m. to Target, located at 2400 S. Telegraph Road, for a man masturbating while seated in his vehicle.

Officers arrived on scene and quickly located the suspect, later identified as James Brian Walsh, a 59-year-old Bloomfield Township resident, inside his vehicle.

During their investigation, officers observed lotion on Walsh's hands and steering wheel, as well as a container of lotion within the vehicle. Officers also determined that Walsh had recently been viewing pornography on his cell phone.

Based on the investigation, and witness statements, Walsh was arrested for indecent exposure and transported to the Bloomfield Township Police Department for processing.

On July 25, he Oakland County Prosecutor's Office authorized a charge of aggravated indecent exposure. Walsh was arraigned by the on-duty magistrate at the 52-1 District Court and was issued a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. He was released from custody pending future court proceedings.
