By Lisa Brody
At a special reception at 6 p.m. Monday, October 11, prior to the township board of trustees meeting, 23 active election inspectors who have volunteered for 20 years or more will be honored for their service by Bloomfield Township Clerk Martin Brook, and former township clerks Jan Roncelli and Wilma Cotton.
“These are the core of our elections,” noted Brook. “They are the core of every election in every municipality.”
While there are hundreds of township residents who volunteer each election, these 23 have served between 39 and 20 years, he noted. Following the reception at 6 p.m., a proclamation will be considered and dedicated to them at the board meeting in gratitude for their service.

Also being recognized are Mary Galvin, 28 years of service; Eugene Johns, 27 years; Gladys Jahnke, 24 years; Fern and Sidney Stoffer, 23 years; Sheila Biehl, Kenneth Burchill, Betty Clark, August Exner, Jack Harned, Elizabeth Johnson, and Theresa Shea, 22 years; Loretta Oliver, 21 years; and Anne Horzczek, Barbara Maertens and Joan Newman for 20 years of service.
