The Bloomfield Township Police Department has announced multiple reports of mail tampering and mail theft during the past week.

In two instances, victims reported that silver coins and bars were stolen out of the mail after confirmed delivery.

The Bloomfield Township Police Department is encouraging everyone to stay vigilant of mail theft this time of the year and is recommending residents sign up for the USPS Informed Delivery service which would alert a resident to what items are going to be delivered that day.

Bloomfield Township police are also asking that if any residents witness suspicious activity at mailboxes to report it immediately to the department.
