Man arrested after breaking SMART bus window

A man from Troy was arrested for smashing a SMART bus window at W. Maple and Southfield in Birmingham on Monday, October 23, after he claims the bus didn’t stop for him.

According to a Birmingham police report, the man said he hit the bus because he was frustrated, but said he denied hitting the window with an object, only his hands. Police say they found two bicycle seats on him, and there was a long scratch next to the bus door's broken window.

The man was arrested and issued a citation for malicious destruction of property, according to police.
