Man arrested for attempted larceny from vehicle

An unidentified man was arrested on Monday, March 14, in connection with an attempted theft from a vehicle in the 200 block of Elm Street in Birmingham, police said.


Birmingham police responded about 3 p.m. to the area behind 700 E. Maple Road for a larceny from an automobile. Police said the officers located a man matching the description of a possible suspect and spoke with him near 200 Elm Street.


Police said the man admitted he had been looking through vehicles and did enter one, but denied taking anything from the vehicle. Police said witnesses reported the same series of events.


The man was arrested for suspected attempted larceny.
