Man arrested for Birmingham bar incidents

Birmingham police arrested a 21-year-old man following reports that he assaulted a woman in a local bar and attempted to fight with other patrons and bar staff on Thursday, November 14.

After bumping into a man at a bar in the 400 block of N. Old Woodward Avenue, a woman from Bloomfield Hills was yelled at and had a drink thrown at her around 11 p.m., according to police reports.

When Birmingham police arrived, the 21-year-old suspect told them that the woman bumped into him, and he retaliated by yelling profanities and eventually throwing a drink on her. Witnesses confirmed his story but added that the man also tried fighting other patrons and bar staff.

Birmingham police report that he was placed under arrest, and an investigation is ongoing.
