Man arrested for disorderly conduct after fight

Two men were seen fighting inside the combined Mobil gas station and Tim Hortons Café, located at 36101 Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, on Saturday, March 25, after they began fighting inside the mini-market and then one man took a bottle of liquor off the shelf and drank it.

According to witnesses at the gas station, two men arrived together in a vehicle. When they went inside, one of the men struck the other with closed fists several times before leaving. The other male stole a bottle of alcohol and began drinking it while he was still inside the mini-market.

When Birmingham police officers showed up, the man who stole the alcohol said he didn’t want to press charges. Police said he grew agitate and aggressive, and he was eventually placed under arrest for disorderly conduct when officers couldn’t calm him down.

Birmingham police say he was then transported to Beaumont Hospital for detox.
