Man attacked, robbed getting out of Uber

A man returning home in Birmingham in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 21, was attacked by a group of people and then robbed as he was exiting an Uber.


A robbery was reported to Birmingham police at 1 a.m. in the 600 block of Dewey Street. The 21-year-old male victim was being dropped off at his residence by an Uber when he was attacked by a group of individuals after exiting the vehicle.


Besides being beaten, he had his expensive watch stolen from his wrist.


The police investigation showed one of the suspects was an 18-year-old male from Sterling Heights. Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
