Man being investigated for alleged retail theft

A Detroit man, currently being monitored by the Troy Police Department, is being investigated by Birmingham police for an alleged theft on Monday, November 24, from a clothing store at the 100 block of S. Old Woodward. 


According to the police report, a member of the clothing store’s investigation team said the man walked in, hid three pairs of pants on his person and left the store without paying for the merchandise worth over $400.


Birmingham police state they have not made an arrest, but an investigation is ongoing.


The name of local businesses are seldom provided by Birmingham police.
