Man punched while trying to break up fight

A man from Shelby Township was punched in the face while trying to break up a fight in front of the Daxton hotel in Birmingham on Thursday, November 23.

Hotel officials said that the fight in front of the hotel involved patrons from a neighboring business who had used the public valet available at the hotel.

The victim told police that he did not know who the attacker was, but that he left on foot from the hotel, located in the 200 block of S. Old Woodward, after the incident.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
