Man reported for assault during argument

Birmingham police are investigating an alleged assault that took place between two 18-year-old male residents around 1 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, while they were driving near N. Old Woodward Ave. and Oak.

The suspect told police officers that the driver and front seat passenger in the car had to separate him and another man after the suspect started hitting him in the face and shoulder. He said the suspect got upset over a conversation they were having about a woman which led to the assault.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
