Maple Road lane closures this weekend

Eastbound Maple Road between Woodward and Elm Street will have, lane closures Thursday, June 30 through Tuesday, July 5, the city of Birmingham announced, in order to do road patching.

The city's sidewalk contractor will be working on road patches along right lane of eastbound Maple Road between Woodward and just east of Elm Street on Thursday, June 30. The contractor is planning to perform a lane closure and lane shift to maintain two-way traffic along Maple during the demo and placement of new concrete.

The traffic shift will result in one lane of traffic east and westbound. Once the new concrete is place, the traffic shift will be adjusted to allow for normal westbound traffic and one lane closed of eastbound traffic.

The single eastbound lane closure is scheduled to remain in place until at least Tuesday, July 5.
