Masked group takes merchandise from store

A downtown Birmingham business located near the 200 block of Pierce Street was reportedly broken into around Thursday, September 17, and merchandise was stolen.

When officers arrived at the business after receiving a report that the front window had been broken, they said it was determined someone had broken the glass to force entry. They reported that witnesses confirmed seeing five people in masks breaking the window and stealing merchandise from inside.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
