Missing car recovered by using GPS

A missing company car was located in Detroit on Friday, February 26, after being reported stolen to police about 9:36 a.m. from a resident in the 900 block of Ann Street of Birmingham.

Birmingham police said the resident said he may have left the key fob in the vehicle when he parked it in his driveway the prior night. He said he noticed around 8 a.m. that the vehicle was missing.

Police were able to locate the vehicle at an unspecified location in Detroit by using the vehicle’s GPS tracking system. It was then towed to Bob’s Towing in Birmingham for further investigation before being returned to the owner.
