Motorcyclist caught after evading police

After fleeing from a Birmingham police officer, a motorcyclist from Troy was stopped by police in Royal Oak on Saturday, May 27, and was reported to the prosecutor’s office for eluding police.

According to reports, a Birmingham police officer on patrol tried to stop the motorcyclist after he was seen weaving in and out of traffic around 14 Mile and Woodward. The driver allegedly sped away intentionally and refused to stop, but he was later stopped by Royal Oak police.

When the Birmingham officer showed up to the scene in Royal Oak, the driver said he didn’t flee intentionally.

Birmingham police said a report for charges for eluding police was submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office.
