Motorcyclist flees Birmingham police officers

Birmingham police are investigating an incident during which a motorcyclist fled from officers on Saturday, August 30, while driving southbound on Woodward near Oak Street. 


According to Birmingham police, the officers saw the motorcycle had no license plate and the driver had the grip of a handgun sticking out of his hip. When they tried to pull him over, the driver sped off, weaving through traffic. 


The investigation is ongoing, police report.
