Multi-vehicle garage fire causes minimal damage

On Sunday, March 26, Long Lake Road between north and south Franklin Roads was shut down for hours due to a reported structure fire.

The Bloomfield Township Fire Department reported they were called to the 1200 block of Long Lake Road, west of Franklin Road, in the mid-afternoon. Fire crews found a multi-vehicle garage attached to a home on fire upon arrival, and immediately began suppression efforts. Early reports suggest a newer model electric vehicle may have been involved.

Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading into the attached 20,000 square-foot home.

No residents or firefighters were harmed.

The Bloomfield Township Fire Department and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Fire Investigation Division are currently investigating the fire.
