After opening several fraudulent business bank accounts at various Michigan bank branches, a Bronx, New York resident was arrested on Saturday, October 18, in Birmingham.
Birmingham police reported that they received a call from the bank, located on the 700 block of E. Maple, reporting that the man was in the building. He reportedly fled when officers pulled up, starting a foot chase, which ended after the man slipped and fell.
Police stated the man had multiple fake IDs and documents that didn’t belong to him on his person when he was detained. They reported an investigation is ongoing with assistance from the FBI.
