With Earth Day coming up on April 22, Bloomfield Township is looking to support environmental protection and take a hands-on role in promoting civic pride with the return of Operation Clean Sweep which involves volunteers helping clear debris from safety paths and roadways in the township.
Operation Clean Sweep, the weekend of April 25-26, plays a role in addressing the debris from safety paths and roadways that has been deposited during the recent winter season. The Bloomfield Township Department of Public Works (DPW) is handing out supplies to assist in the effort.
Residents interested in participating can sign up on the township’s website no later than April 21. The DPW will provide bags and trash supplies to residents during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning April 13. Residents will be able to pick up supplies at the Public Works building at 4200 Telegraph Road (just west of Township Hall).
All trash and compost will be picked up by Priority Waste at the normally scheduled collection time for each cleanup location.
