OUR TOWN art show opens March 31 at TCH

The 38th annual OUR TOWN Art Show & Sale, hosted by The Community House(TCH) in downtown Birmingham, will open to the public on Friday, March 31, following an Opening Night VIP party on March 30.

The juried, all media art show provides a forum for a variety of Michigan artists to showcase and sell their works. The OUR TOWN art show & sale includes paintings, pastels, sculptures, glass work, fiber works, photography, jewelry and mixed media, with 65 percent of the proceeds of art sales going directly to the artists, and 35 percent of the proceeds going to help fund The Community House outreach programs for adults and children.

This year's juried art show includes over 293 unique works of art from 125 artists, all from Michigan. Barbara Heller, director and conservator of special projects for The Detroit Institute of Arts, and Grace Serra, art collection curator at Wayne State University and exhibition curator at the University of Michigan North Campus Research Complex, served as final jurors to select the finalists.

All juried artworks will be displayed during the Opening Night VIP Party on Thursday, March 30th. The show will be open and free to the public on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1. Additionally, all juried artworks will be available for sale online from March 31 through April 14.
