Two women were reportedly arrested by Birmingham police following an alleged retail theft that took place the night of Thursday, February 12, at a store on the 100 block of S. Old Woodward.

Police were tipped off that the two women leaving the store had stolen merchandise on their persons. When officers caught up with the women, they reportedly found roughly $2,500 worth of merchandise stolen, approximately $1,200 coming from the Birmingham store and the remaining from other store locations.

Birmingham police placed the women under arrest, but report an investigation is ongoing.
