While Birmingham police were responding to a call about a potential fight near the 1600 block of E. Lincoln the night of Sunday, August 30, they happened across two 22-year-olds sitting in a nearby playground with open alcoholic beverages.
The two were cited for open intoxicants in a public place, Birmingham police reported, but they claimed they were not involved in the alleged fight that brought the officers out there.
