Pair revisit gas station and steal champagne

Birmingham police officers responded to the Mobil Gas Station, located at 1065 E. Maple Road, on Thursday, December 1, on reports of a theft of bottles of champagne.

The gas store owner told officers that two individuals, a male and female, removed several bottles of champagne from the cooler on Wednesday, November 30, and hid them before leaving the store without paying and driving off. The suspects were described as a black male wearing a yellow hat and black winter coat, and a black female wearing a Nike baseball cap and black winter coat.

The store owner also told officers that the suspects were the same individuals from a separate retail fraud incident that happened several days before this.

Officers report that the items stolen were valued at roughly $284.

Birmingham police are investigating.
