Police arrest 2025 ‘porch piracy’ suspect

Birmingham police, with assistance from Troy, Grosse Pointe and Beverly Hills police, have arrested a suspect in several instances of “porch piracy’ dating to December of 2025.

In a release, Birmingham police said that detectives realized these incidents were committed by the same individual and utilized photos and videos provided by the community to identify a suspect.

Birmingham detectives obtained a 17-count larceny from mail arrest warrant for Robert William Foster of Detroit who was arraigned at the 48th District Court on January 29 and was issued a $25,000 personal bond with GPS tether upon release.
