Birmingham police are actively investigating the alleged theft of several bottles of tequila on Friday, March 27, from a grocery store in the 600 block of E. Maple.

A store employee reported the theft, saying that the thief, a man from Detroit who is reported to be a suspect in several other liquor thefts at different stores, walked in and took six bottles of tequila, about $219 worth, before leaving without paying.

Birmingham police reports an investigation is ongoing.
