Police search for shooter of BB gun from vehicle

Birmingham police were dispatched to Maple and Southfield roads around 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, on a report of someone shooting a BB gun from a vehicle.

A witness reported to officers that while he was running along Maple Road, he felt something that felt like “stings” hit his back. Another pedestrian passing by reported she was “hit” as well. A witness reported to officers seeing a vehicle with its windows down passing by at the time of the incidents, although he said he did not see a weapon or hands outside of the car.

Officers searched the area with no success.

Birmingham police report they are continuing to investigate.
