Police seek identity of pedestrian hit by vehicle
Bloomfield Township police are seeking the identity of a black male who was hit and injured by a vehicle while walking in the left lane of northbound Woodward near Big Beaver Road around 5:15 a.m. Thursday, July 11.
Bloomfield Township police report that they first received multiple 911 calls regarding a pedestrian walking in the left lane of northbound Woodward near Big Beaver Road. Officers were dispatched to the area, but before they arrived, Bloomfield Township received a 911 call that the pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle.
Emergency respondents transferred the injured pedestrian to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, Royal Oak. He is currently on a ventilator and listed in serious condition.
The driver of the motor vehicle called 911, remained on scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.
The pedestrian is described as a black male in his 30’s, approximately five-feet, nine-inches tall, described as thin build. At this time, police have been unable to identify this individual. Members of the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) were called to respond to the scene to assist with the investigation. This crash is still under investigation.
